Reflection on a Wild Adventure: S1 Students Enjoy Exotic Animals Encounter
Our S1 students recently embarked on an unforgettable journey into the world of exotic animals, and the excitement is still buzzing throughout the school! The Exotic Animals Encounter, held on 19 November 2024, offered students a uniquely interactive experience with some of the world’s most fascinating creatures.
Throughout the event, students had the chance to get up close with eight intriguing animals including a tarantula, African bullfrog, carpet python, alligator snapping turtle, sugar glider, long-eared hedgehog, blue tree monitor, and toco toucan. Guided by knowledgeable animal handlers, our young explorers learned about each animal’s natural habitat, behaviors, and the importance of conservation efforts to protect these species.
Students were particularly thrilled by the hands-on interaction, as they observed and even touched some of the animals under expert supervision. This hands-on learning approach not only captivated their attention but also deepened their understanding of biodiversity and wildlife conservation.
Feedback from the students has been overwhelmingly positive. They shared that the encounter sparked their curiosity and increased their appreciation for the natural world. Many students expressed newfound interests in animal science and environmental conservation. The event has not only broadened their educational horizons but also encouraged a spirit of inquiry and discovery.
We are proud of our S1 students for their engagement and eagerness to learn, and we extend our gratitude to Jurassic Garage and educators who made this experience both safe and enlightening.
